Where You'll Work

Our Sturtevant, WI location is part of our Meat Division and creates dry seasoning blends for meat and snacks items that spice up the life of Kerry customers. We are located a commutable 20 minutes from the Milwaukee metro area, with easy on/off access from I-94. The typical hiring range for this role is $23.00 per hour and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).

These positions are for 2nd and 3rd shift only. 2nd and 3rd shift have a $1.50 shift differential.

What You'll Do

General Statement of Responsibilities: The blending operator is responsible for safe and quality driven output of batching within expected timeframes. Blending operator is to successfully complete Allergen and Non-Allergen washes within a reasonable timeframe to avoid production interruption. This is an entry level position within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for All Blending Operators:

  • Works in blending room in teams of 2 or 3.
  • Dumps 50# bags routinely into blender following SAP recipe.
  • Fills new bags, labels, and pallet stacks for shipment.
  • Follows all GMP and Quality standards.
  • Maintains room cleanliness.
  • Understanding of computer data and how it is to be entered accurately into SAP.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a hazard free work area.
  • Attends Tier 1 Meetings and Provides input as requested
  • Maintain work area in a clean and safe manner.
  • Maintain GMPS, PPE, and 5S standards.
  • Reports all Accidents and Near-misses immediately.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Position reports to the shift supervisor on shift and follows direction of the cell lead and/or production team lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Blending Operator II:

  • Can trouble shoot some production issues
  • Participates in problem solving activities
  • Understands and Completes Attainment to Plan Board with support
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Blending Operator III:
  • Can trouble shoot production issues
  • Participates in problem solving activities and can identify opportunities/solutions
  • Completes Attainment to Plan Board without support
  • Acts as a back-up for cell lead in their absence

What You'll Need To Be Successful And Safe

Minimum Requirements:

  • Organizational & excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding of the terminology of the job.
  • Basic computer experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions.
  • Previous manufacturing and blending operation experience preferred.
  • Previous work experience within a food manufacturing and distribution environment preferred.
  • Previous experience with scanners/RF guns preferred.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Food manufacturing plant
  • Warehouse environment
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability kneel, bend, squat, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions and perform elevated work.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold or wet environments. Environment may be dust filled at times
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously.
  • Ability to work overtime and use a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to walk up to 135 feet one way many times a day.
  • Ability to continuously stand/walk up to 8-12 hours.
  • Ability to climb stairs or ladder.
