Senior Psychologist Program Managers generally manage large, complex programs. The Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP) for GLA is a highly specialized, complex network of large programs & encompasses numerous component parts that are integral to the creation & maintenance of workplace safety & accountability throughout the GLA facility. The Chief is responsible for the administrative & clinical oversight of all work provided within all WVP Programs.
Duties
- Management responsibilities that include the day-to-day oversight and management of all administrative and clinical aspects of the Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP) across Greater Los Angeles VAHCS.
- Has oversight of the following programs/committees, under the umbrella of the WVPP all of which contribute significantly to the safety, education, and training of all GLA staff across all 11 sites: the Disruptive Behavior Committee (DBC), Employee Threat Assessment Team (ETAT), Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) Program, Disruptive Behavior Reporting System (DBRS), the Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment (WBRA) system, and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT).
- Oversight for the administrative and programmatic resources of the Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP), and as such, organizes, directs, administers, and manages all aspects of the program.
- As Co-Chair of the DBC & Chair of the ETAT, the incumbent is responsible for all administrative and clinical oversight of both committees. This includes day-to-day local administrative tasks, data & staff monitoring, facility-level report-outs, as well as VISN & National reporting & consulting responsibilities.
- Provides direct patient care services to Veterans within an assigned clinical section/program.
- As a licensed, independent psychologist, the Senior Psychologist Program Manager applies advanced professional psychological diagnostic methods and evidence-based intervention strategies to a full range of patient problems in the work setting.
- Provides patients with elements of care coordination, case management, and other ancillary functions to the provision of professional psychological and team-based services as assigned.
- Applies experience & training to involvement in clinical and didactic training and supervision in the specific areas of this work. Students at all levels from within Psychology, and from other disciplines will be working under the incumbent's supervision.
- Assists relevant program director or coordinator in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of the clinical program.
