Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in developing innovative product design concepts per Van Metre standards and goals.
  • Facilitate seamless coordination in product design processes.
  • Craft compelling conceptual presentations, detailed design drawings, and intricate design details.
  • Contribute to preparing design development drawings and specifications by providing valuable design support.
  • Generate visually stunning 2D and 3D renderings to bring product conceptual designs to life.
  • Formulate and coordinate harmonious color schemes for new and existing community products and clubhouses.
  • Scrutinize marketing materials, including interior and exterior views, ensuring alignment with the intended design aesthetic.
  • Conceptualize interior color packages that seamlessly extend the design vision from the exterior to the interior of homes.
  • Actively engage in ongoing product training meetings to stay abreast of the latest industry developments.
  • Demonstrate a keen awareness of and interest in the evolving design industry and market trends.
  • Contribute to providing valuable design direction and inspiration for model homes and spec homes.
  • Conduct field visits to new and existing communities, ensuring the precise execution of design and color elements.
  • Essential Competencies:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, with experience in 3D modeling and rendering software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Office) and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in Enscape or similar software preferred.
  • Adobe Acrobat Professional/Bluebeam preferred.
  • Strong design sensibility and ability to conceptualize and communicate design ideas effectively though sketches, drawings, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction processes practices related to residential projects.

Other Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in the residential field or a related area, with a portfolio showcasing successful projects.
  • Proven experience in residential design within the homebuilding industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for design innovation and a commitment to delivering high-quality, aesthetically pleasing, and functional residential spaces.
