Mine Geology Intern

Project Name: Seasonal Mining Activity Assistance

Project Duration: Summer 2024

Project Location: Magris Talc, Argonaut Mine - Ludlow , VT

Project Mentor: Mine Manager

Desired Degree: Currently enrolled or recently graduated with BS Degree in Geology, Mine Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related subject.

Coursework Prerequisites: Additional experience with past internships and jobs are valuable.

PROJECT SCOPE:

The Mine Geology Intern will report to and assist the Mine Manager with day-to-day tasks associated with the seasonal mining activities at Argonaut Mine. This position will also be responsible for working with site contractors responsible for mining activities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The key tasks the Mine Geology Intern will include, but not be limited, to the following:

Responsible for collecting blasthole samples and surveying locationsAssisting in on-site laboratory to test mine and product samples for QA/QC and reportingCommunication of blasthole results to Mine Manger and contractor in a timely mannerSafety inspectionsVarious projects around the mine and the greater site (mills and shipping center)

PROJECT LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

This internship will teach you how to work in a small team in an active mine environment. The Mine Geology Intern will participate in safety meetings and will be an integrated part of the Mine Engineering group during this internship.
