Research Associate participates in planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in a shared resource laboratory focused on immuno-oncology in the Immune Monitoring & Discovery Platform (IMDP) Pelotonia Institute of Immuno-Oncology.

Participates in developing and implementing goals and objectives of studiesDesigns and executes complex laboratory experimentsPerforms advanced molecular and cellular (spectral flow cytometry, single-cell proteomics/genomics, CRISPR, highly multiplexed tissue imaging, spatial transcriptomics, etc.)Collects, analyzes and interprets research dataAssists with development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniquesTests experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and make recommendations for utilizationAssists in establishment of controls, criteria and research standardsPerforms critical analysis of literature relevant to research being undertakenAssists in the preparation of research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and conferences and workshops, and in the writing of project reports, articles and other documentsAssists principal investigator in the preparation of proposals to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding in support of researchCoordinates laboratory activities and work assignments of postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and laboratory research staffOversees and coordinates periodic maintenance and testing of laboratory equipmentPerforms additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required, Master's degree is preferred.1-3 years of relevant experience required, 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred in an immunology research capacity.Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.Excellent people skills and the ability to work within a team required.Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
