K-5 Spanish Teacher

Old Trail School in Bath, Ohio is seeking a full-time Spanish Teacher for the school year. Responsibilities include a full-time teaching load in Spanish for grades in Primary School and Intermediate School.

The ideal candidate will maintain a positive and professional atmosphere in the classroom, demonstrating an ability to inspire and engage students.

The candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills, creativity and flexibility and be able to promote the individual success of each student, regardless of skill or level.

It is the expectation that the candidate will create and maintain current and detailed lesson plans, provide differentiated instruction in the classroom, collaborate with peers, and be a role model for the School's core values:
Respect, Responsibility, Goodness, and Service.
This position will assist in planning and leading a program abroad to a Spanish speaking country.

Other duties may include coaching a sport, serving as an MS advisor, chaperoning students on field trips (local and out of state), and proctoring study halls.

Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in Spanish and/or other appropriate field.

Applicants should have 2-3 years of teaching experience, either in the classroom or in non-traditional educational settings (camps, outdoor centers, etc.).

Old Trail's World Language Department uses a comprehensible-input method of instruction. A candidate should be completely fluent in Spanish, whether a native speaker of Spanish or not. Most importantly, applicants should be able to successfully engage with children by creating a collaborative and positive environment.
