Job Overview

PlanetArt is looking for a Senior QA Tester to support the company's website or mobile app development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on testing of mobile apps or customer-facing websites, internal platforms/tools, and related marketing campaigns. Ideal candidates would have experience providing meaningful feedback on new features in beta stage as well as experience working with website or mobile app developers, Project / Product managers and Marketing managers.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the Calabasas area as we operate on a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 remote)

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the QA Manager, as well as Product, Development, and Marketing teams, to understand requirements and provide feedback during the beta phase of development for new features and app / website releases.
  • Actively participate in meetings, providing constructive feedback on project status and share ideas to enhance the quality and usability of new features.
  • Review and validate new app features against requirement specifications and design documents, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Identify potential issues or areas for improvement, helping to mitigate risks and enhance product quality.
  • Provide detailed, concise, and accurate feedback directly to Project and Product Managers, Software Developers, and Marketing Managers. Create tickets in our bug tracking system and track the lifecycle of ticket from creation to close.
  • Collaborate with other QA Testers to ensure a consistent and thorough review process for all new features and app releases.
  • Perform ad hoc testing of new features to quickly identify any critical issues or usability concerns.
  • Regularly place orders and perform quality checks of personalized finished goods related to mobile apps / websites.
  • Perform regression testing when significant changes are made to existing features or when tickets are resolved.
  • Occasionally requested to create detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Other duties which may be assigned from time to time as required to meet business needs.


Requirements

Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements

  • At least four years experience total as a professional QA tester.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience performing functionality QA testing on iOS and/or Android devices.
  • Experience leading or supervising QA testers or equivalent QA Lead experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience with common bug tracking software such as Jira, Bugzilla, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A self-managed proactive work style.
  • Experience interacting directly with software project managers, developers and marketing managers and provide detailed feedback.
  • Experience with automated testing and with setting up a local automated test environment a plus.
  • Proven ability to create test cases, checklists and test plans a plus.

  • May require occasional travel.
  • This is a hybrid position; employees are expected to be in the office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option of working remotely two days (Wednesday and Friday).

The compensation for this position is between $28 to $36 per hour.
