The Senior Manager, Project Cost Control is responsible in
leading, performing, reviewing and implementing cost control
function for the project by following the corporate standards
processes and procedures. The Manager Cost Control is also
responsible for the completeness and correctness of the cost
control activities during different stages of the project by
improve cost control process and procedures, budget control,
manpower forecast/tracking, change control tracking and cost
analysis etc.

  • Works in conjunction with all department heads to ensure
    maximum profitability
  • Provides critical assessment of all budgets and cost
    projections
  • Tracks and reports actual revenue and costs against as
    sold/target budget including the analysis of positive or
    negative impacts
  • Continuously forecasts and analyze final costs of the
    project
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager and Project team of
    potential cost impact and savings on the project
  • Prepare timely hourly/cost reports and ensure accurate
    coding, distribute for review as required by each project
  • Prepare financial statements, business activity reports,
    financial position forecasts, annual budgets
  • Prepares and presents recommendations for reducing costs,
    and provides cost-related data in support of business decisions
    or for use in financial reporting
  • Supervises and assure the quality and timeliness of all
    cost control activities
  • Ensures proper percentage of completion (POC) accounting
  • Controls cash in and cash out
  • Mentors others on project management skills (critical path,
    productivity and cost tracking methods)
  • Assess all incoming products, resources, and services to
    ensure the best price
  • Maintains vendor and service provider relationships
  • Works with subject matter experts on technical subjects to
    establish project procedures to track, manage and control
    issued project documents
  • Leads schedule update meetings, as required
  • Remains acutely aware of market trends that could impact
    resource costs
  • Keeps up to date on new vendors and possible cost-cutting
    partnerships
  • Develop and implement proactive solutions and cost-cutting
    measures
  • Presents new strategies and assessments to stakeholders
    related to cost
Show your expertise
  • Construction industry experience with relevant bachelor's
    degree and/or professional training desired.
  • Certification such as Project Management Professional
    (PMP), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), Program Management
    Professional (PgMP), or related certifications preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in the commercial construction
    industry and 10+ years of cost control experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in development of Work Breakdown
    Structure (WBS), cost control, budget development, reporting
    and record/document control
  • Hands on experience in developing and updating schedules
    using Primavera P6, cost and resource loading, special
    customized reports, and other database programs, web-based
    tools and spreadsheets
  • Experience working on municipal projects is highly
    desirable
  • Experience in large capital improvement programs highly
    desirable
