The Shipping Clerk is responsible for consolidating orders and ship notes to be picked and staged. This associate is also responsible for preparing the necessary paperwork to complete outbound shipments, assisting warehouse personnel with pulling and packing small package and HAZMAT shipments.
- Consolidate customer orders for picking, packing, staging and shipping by warehouse shipping associates.
- Pack product for shipment according to customer requirements, transportation methods, and routes of travel for small package shipments.
- Properly label boxes to include identification and labeling of hazardous materials.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner (eg pick tickets, packing lists, bill of lading, manifests, hazardous materials forms, etc.).
- Uses ERP system to perform duties related to order consolidation and any paperwork requirements.
- Assist with hazardous, small package, FedEx and UPS shipments.
- Contact transportation companies to arrange freight and logistics as needed.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork.
- File paperwork for completed orders, process daily invoices, and enter all received purchase orders.
- Responsible for printing license plate numbers for finished goods
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of the warehouse area.
- When necessary, operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts for material handling.
- Complete assigned projects.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 - 5 years of shipping/receiving experience, experience with hazardous materials preferred.
- Strong computer skills, especially excel
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks when there are multiple and conflicting demands. Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Must be detail-orientated, highly accurate, and dependable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; with the ability to correspond via electronic and written communications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively and communicate positively with managers and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to lift, move, and/or transport up to 50lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in a blended office and manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE as defined by plant safety procedures.
- Will need to work a flexible work scheduled with ability to work overtime.
- Forklift certification is required.
