Weill Cornell Medicine's Department of Psychiatry in conjunction with NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking qualified candidates for an opportunity to join our leadership team as Service Chief of NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital (BMH) . This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative clinical leader to oversee and advance psychiatric services at a world-class hospital.

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital (BMH), located in Prospect Park, is a 651-bed academic institution, academically affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine , caring for residents throughout Brooklyn and the surrounding communities for over than 135 years. The hospital's academic programs include nine graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs. The Psychiatry program comprises 24 inpatient beds, consultation-liaison, and a developing ambulatory program that will be housed in brand-new facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for c ollaborating with WCM Department of Psychiatry leadership and NYP leadership to contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the psychiatry services at NYP BMH including inpatient, emergency, consultation-liaison, and ambulatory services.

Position Responsibilities :

Develops and implements strategic and programmatic initiatives. Collaborates with departmental leadership on recruitment and retention of psychiatry and psychology faculty. Promotes a culture that fosters diversity, inclusion, and health justice. Develops and implements initiatives that advance quality, patient experience, and safety. Promotes the professional and academic development of faculty and staff. Serves on key campus- and service-line-level committees. Represents WCM and NYP BMH at professional and civic service organization meetings. Maintains current knowledge of internal and external regulatory requirements for the delivery of psychiatric services.
The position is 75% administrative with a 25% clinical component that can be tailored to the successful candidate's professional interest.

Minimum Qualifications :

Board certification in Psychiatry and possess or be eligible for New York State licensure. Demonstrated success as an academic leader. Five to seven years of leadership and supervisory experience in a psychiatric setting. Experience working in multi-campus healthcare systems. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
Required Knowledge and Work Experience :

Track record for developing successful, innovative clinical programs. Aptitude for working collaboratively across clinical disciplines and with administration and external stakeholders. An established record of academic accomplishments. Demonstrated capacity to foster an environment that promotes excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship. Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.
Required Leadership Skills and Competencies :
Ability to navigate and lead in a complex and matrixed environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills. Demonstrated ability to inspire, manage, mentor, and develop a culturally diverse faculty and staff. Ability to contribute to strategic planning processes. Ability to develop and motivate multidisciplinary and diverse teams. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring students, faculty, and staff across disciplines.
Salary : Minimum salary: $400,000 Maximum salary: $425,000

Weill Cornell Medicine provides the above salary range in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range listed is for full-time employment not including bonuses, clinical incentive compensation, or benefits. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, specialty, training, and hospital/community needs.

The above salary range for New York City based roles represents WCM's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.
