Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager in our Fullerton, California location.
Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all position the Facility and Maintenance activities at the Fullerton manufacturing facility. This position ensures that facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in dependable condition; that required repairs are rapidly completed; and that capital and non-capital projects are effectively managed. Directs the activities of teams of technical personnel, skilled craftworkers, and contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and implements maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure that all equipment and facilities are operating at a maximum efficiency and in compliance with safety regulationsManage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure that all work is completed on time to a high standardMonitor and analyze equipment performance data, and develop strategies to improve reliability and reduce downtimeCollaborate with the production teams to identify maintenance requirements, and develop plans to minimize disruptions to production schedulesManage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance work and ensure that all materials are properly stored and accounted for Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring that all expenditures are within budget and in line with company goalsOversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery, and develop training programs for maintenance personnel to ensure that all team members are adequately trained to operate and maintain new equipmentEnsure that all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as with all relevant regulations and standards Monitors and manages the activities of outside contractors. Prepares technical requests for proposals. Evaluates proposals; negotiates terms, conditions, and pricing; awards contracts to bidder providing best value to the company. Monitors and controls projects and budgets to prevent cost overruns.Prepares facility designs for major projects such as equipment installation or movement, facility addition or modification, and real property modifications. May retain external professional services to support project completion, obtain specialized knowledge, or to comply with codes and regulations.Coordinates activities with Safety & Environmental team to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Manage miscellaneous services are provided by contractors such as janitorial, pest control and fire extinguisher inspection.Demonstrates a commitment to continual improvement of organizational capabilities.
Competencies
Must have the ability to work effectively with both company and contractor personnelMust have excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skillsProven ability to prioritize and complete multiple work assignments in diverse fields with minimal direction and supervisionBroad knowledge of technical systems, machinery and equipment, applicable codes and regulations Knowledge of facilities and maintenance management software, preferably Maintenance Express softwareExperience and thorough understanding with electrical mechanical and maintenance skills
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in leadership role within aerospace manufacturing.Experience in the Fastener manufacturing industryEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
20 years of experience in Aerospace manufacturing work environment, which has provided a working knowledge of lean manufacturing and rapid improvement techniques.Bachelor's Degree preferred with emphasis is in Engineering or Business specializationExperience working in a complex manufacturing facility preferred
Benefits/Salary:
The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package available day one of hire, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000.
