Duties & Responsibilities:
Constructs, installs and repairs wooden structures and fittings. Examines drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.

Selects and measures appropriate wood and cuts, shapes and drills to specification using saws, planes, chisels and other power or hand tools.

Aligns and fixes prepared wood pieces by screwing, nailing, gluing and dowelling to form frames, shop fronts, counter units, decking and furniture.

Checks accuracy of work with square, rule and spirit level. Maintains and repairs woodwork and fittings. Carries out a wide range of carpentry related tasks to ensure work is completed to highest standards possible. Incorporates fixtures like door handles and locks, cabinet handles, stairway railing, and other fixtures into design and implementation. Carries out remedial work to fix maintenance issues. Complies with health and safety regulations. Plans daily workload and ensures all tasks are completed within the designated time period.

QUALIFICATION:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or above

Skills:

  • Ability to work at heights in various weather conditions.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and the ability to follow them diligently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

EXPERIENCE
Prospective employee should have at least one year practical experience in the relevant field.
