Intermittent Registered Nurse

This position is located at the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA. The Intermittent Registered Nurse is responsible for direct patient care within Acute Care.
Duties
The Acute Care (AC) RN is an RN who will utilize the nursing process and evidence based practice in order to develop individual plans of care for patients throughout Lebanon Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center.
The Intermittent RN is a key member of the multidisciplinary team and is; therefore, responsible for patient advocacy, collaboration with other team members, promoting effective communication and ethical practice.
The RN is a member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Code Blue Team and is required to maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
The RN functions within their scope of practice to provide high quality, direct patient care including patient assessment, documentation, medication administration, and for the delegation of specified tasks to assigned licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel.
The RN, in collaboration with patients and family members, will build a patient education plan that meets their individual and education needs.
The AC RN will be assigned to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Unit, and Ambulatory Surgical Unit (ASU)/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), as needed.
