Duties include but are not limited to:
Independently practicing hospital optometry to the fullest extent of clinical privileges.

Clinical privileges will be determined when requested by the staff optometrist and approved by the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff (ECMS).

Being responsible for all patient orders including; laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, prosthetics, and consults for specialty care to be completed through Cerner.

Being responsible for supplemental training of all student interns and optometry residents that are involved in direct patient care.

Reviewing the student's examination and all aspects of documentation for accuracy.
Completing the electronic medical record generated with direct patient care. Every attempt should be made to complete the electronic record the day of the patient encounter.
Co-signing all completed electronic medical record generated with student and resident supervision.

Researching and completing a presentation of ocular diseases and/or specific case reports to student interns and resident that includes all clinical rotations.

Completing all administrative duties delegated by the Director of Optometry and/or the Chief of Surgery.

Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

Competitive salary, regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off:


Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 11 paid Federal holidays per year.
