Responsibilities of this Sales Operations Specialist role include working with 2 internal teams on different production tasks throughout the year. Part of the year (January-May) involves reaching out to providers through both written communication and phone calls to verify and request information to meet compliance guidelines. The other responsibility of the role (May-December) involves quoting medical and ancillary products for small businesses throughout the country. This includes duties such as updating and manipulating data within Excel spreadsheets, gathering required documents and details, and coordinating with our underwriting partners. This role acts as the liaison for our sales partners to ensure critical updates and all requirements are received to produce an accurate quote.

This position is full-time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need (during peak), to work occasional overtime or weekends.

We offer weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM from Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process quote requests as assigned in the inventory tracking system
  • Review documents and market reference tools to create a quote
  • Work with internal and external contacts to gather missing information and clarify data that was submitted
  • Use appropriate quoting system to process quotes as required by markets
  • Work with Underwriting and Underwriting tools to provide underwritten rates
  • Process Sold Case Submissions, as assigned in inventory system using outlined policies and procedures on OneNote, to follow market nuances
  • Work closely with AE, Broker, and Case Installation team to get a case through contract issuance
  • Manage data, including a personal email box and shared folders
  • Work in multiple applications including Microsoft Excel and Solaris
  • Work within required timelines and expectations
  • Adherence to productivity metrics
  • Flexibility to work other operational roles during certain times of the year
  • Multi - task many responsibilities, that may or may not be related, through thoughtful prioritization and documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED or higher
  • 3+ years of health insurance OR medical experience
  • 1+ years of experience working cross-functionally in dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook (ability to filter and sort through documents, spreadsheets, compose and respond to email)
  • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM from Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with Sales Operations teams in small businesses employees)

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
