Program Specialist

A local non-profit is seeking a Program Specialist to join their team and help support the daily operation of their meal delivery program by providing high quality support to program participants and volunteers. This includes maintaining service standards and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Duties in this role includes handling the volunteers schedule, fielding and answering questions from participants and volunteers, and performing any follow up tasks related to the meal delivery program.
The qualified candidate will have their bachelor's degree, a minimum two years of direct social service, case management, and/or case coordination experience, and be CPR and First Aid certified. Apply today to be immediately considered.

$45,000 to $50,000 a year
Responsibilities
- Answer participant questions and/or help resolve any issues with their service.
- Follow-up on issues or concerns reported by staff and volunteers.
- Communicate start date, changes in service, service terminations, and resolutions to the customer and/or family, funder, volunteer, team, and document in participant?s records.
- Schedule volunteers for assignments.
- Ensure volunteers? schedules are accurate and current and maintain and track volunteers? schedules in program calendar and database.
- Follow-up with volunteers on delivered/undelivered meals, service delivery issues, and concerns.
- Lead the development of long-term resolutions to service-related issues.
- Support special initiatives such as volunteer appreciation, holiday or emergency delivery services, recruitment, and resource fairs.
- Create and manage the payment spreadsheet and follow up on missing/overdue payments.
- Manage program records including volunteer and participant files and data.
- Create and update program records to include schedule/personal information, long/short holds, missed shifts/deliveries, training, evaluations, periodic re-screening/assessments, and case notes.
- Assist with new authorizations for services and review authorizations and assessment forms for completeness.
- Manage and maintain waitlist, as applicable, and ensure timely processing of new client intakes.
- Support admin team with scheduling welcome visits for new referrals and prepare welcome packets and update program calendar as needed.
- Provide regular reports and updates on routes, open/filled volunteer positions, and operation related information.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, psychology, or related field preferred. *High school diploma or equivalent plus years of experience in a closely related field may qualify as a substitute on a year-to-year basis for the education requirement.
- Minimum two years of direct social service, case management, and/or case coordination experience.
- One year work experience in a human services program, direct customer service serving the elderly and/or disabled, or supervising volunteers preferred.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office and various software.
- Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate emotional stability and be adaptable for any given situation.
- Team player and able to collaborate with multiple teams and individuals.
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive data.
- Ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, and cognitive abilities without bias.
- TB clearance required.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Must have valid driver's license with clean abstract.
- Access to a reliable and insured vehicle.
