Responsibilities:

Expand and optimize data and data pipeline architecture as well as optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams to support the critical data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.

Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.

Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.

Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes optimizing data delivery and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python, and AWS (Amazon Web Services) 'big data' technologies.

Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.

Work with stakeholders including Executive, Product, Data, and Marketing teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Identify systems and processes that improve efficiencies and support greater access to meaningful data that empowers key stakeholders throughout the organization.

Ensure clean data and reduce risk of fraud.

Education & Other Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics, or a related field.

Five years of progressive experience in data engineering.

Employer will accept a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics, or a related field and three years of experience in data engineering in lieu of a Bachelor's degree and five years of progressive experience.

Work experience to include: 1. Using data and analysis related technologies and techniques, to include SQL and Python. 2. Working with structured and unstructured data sets. 3. Building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. 4. Performing root cause analysis on internal and external data to identify improvement opportunities. 5. Working with relational databases (to include Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, or MySQL) and NoSQL databases. 6. Using AWS cloud services (including EC2, EMR, RDS, or Redshift) and AWS Data Pipeline. 7. Using big data pipeline tools including Spark, Glue, and SSIS. 8. Sourcing and modeling data from REST and JSON APIs. 9. Using data visualization systems including Tableau, Looker, or Power BI. 10. Using scalable Extract Transform Load (ETL) languages (to include pySpark or Scala) for large volume data loads. 11. Development operations in data engineering, to include using git and working with CI/CD pipelines. 12. Working in consumer finance or in a highly regulated environment.

This position reports to Ascent Funding, LLC's headquarters at 402 W. Broadway, 19th Floor, San Diego, CA Ascent Funding is a member of the Goal Family of Companies.
Salary: $160,451.00 to $175,000.00 per year.
