National Economic Research Associates, Inc. is looking for a candidate for the position of Senior Consultant, based in Washington, DC. Remote work may be allowed within a commutable distance from the worksite as per company policy.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement allocation mechanisms like auctions and trading
  • Craft bidding strategies for industries such as telecommunications, energy, procurement, and transport
  • Apply economic theory and market design principles for international arbitration, competition, pricing, regulatory, and public policy issues
  • Provide policy advice and support on market design across various industries
  • Conduct analyses using experimental economics and causal inference
  • Offer consultation on litigation, regulatory, and policy matters for high-tech, telecommunications, mining, and renewable energy sectors
  • Perform research focused on quantitative methods in digital economy, energy, and telecommunications
  • Participate in business development
  • Plan, direct, and supervise junior staff's work
  • Present and publish on various subjects like causal inference, auctions, two-sided markets, and spectrum management

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in roles like Consultant or Research Scientist
  • Experience in Experimental Design, Causal Inference, Game Theory, Auctions, Demand Estimation, Machine Learning, A/B Testing, Policy Research, Governance Mechanisms, and scripting with R, Python, or Julia
