This announcement is at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, located in Charleston, SC.

The incumbent serves as a Pipefitter in an complex medical facility, which is constantly evolving within a highly complex and competitive geographic area.

This is an open continuous announcement and applicants will be referred every two weeks.The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be November 1, 2023, with subsequent cut-off dates on the 15th of each month.
Duties

Major Duties, not limited to:

• Repairs plumbing systems and related equipment.
• Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utilities, supply and disposal systems.
• Tests and makes needed adjustments to systems and equipment for proper operation, flow, drainage, and sanitary conditions with national Plumbing codes.
• Repairs systems and equipment such as waster, oil, and Medical Gas distribution systems as well as water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers.
• Installs, repairs, assembles, or replaces gauges, steam traps, thermostatic controls, unit heaters, toilets, urinals lavatories, sinks, tubs, physiotherapy equipment, showers, dishwashing machines, control values, hot water generators, stills, autoclaves, and sterilizers, expansion joints, and heat exchangers.
• Cuts, thread and install pipe including: black iron, ductile, galvanized, lead, wrought iron malleable, copper, brass, plastic and glass pipe.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am- 4:00pm
