NON-CDL DRIVER / ROUTE MANAGER IN TRAINING OPPORTUNITY

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We have an immediate opening in our High Point, NC location for a Driver in Training. This is an entry level position with on-the-job training. Successful candidates will need to work independently with minimal supervision.

This position is for Day Shift (7am to 5pm) 8 to 10 hour driving shift.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Assist the route managers with required daily pickups.
  • Collect and handle confidential material to be shredded.
  • Able to communicate and provide superior customer service while protecting the confidential information of our clients.
  • Provide on-time daily service to a busy route of existing and new customers.
  • Perform shredding of customer documents at the customer's home or business in a safe, secure, and professional manner, as per the company's standards.
  • Communicate with dispatcher on a regular basis daily to report progress or any issues with schedules and timing of customer routes.
  • Deliver and install new containers in customer facilities, as required.
  • Collect required signatures and/or payment from customers.

Customer Service:

  • Promote service to current customers and/or casual enquiries to attract more business or secure leads for sales representatives.
  • Manage all customer concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Build positive relationships with existing customers.
  • Ensure Legal Shred's standards for customer service are being met.

Equipment and Truck Maintenance:

  • Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.
  • Ensure that fluid levels are maintained daily (ex. fuel, oil, transmission, hydraulic, coolant, brake, and DEF fluid.)
  • Complete daily safety check of shredding vehicle and equipment; make minor repairs to the shredding truck and equipment, if necessary, and report any deficiencies immediately.
  • Inspect trucks for cleanliness, damage, and maintenance prevention on a daily basis.

Other Duties:

  • Strictly maintain all company procedures and present a professional image and attire both inside and outside the customer's home or facility.
  • Adhere to Legal Shred and NAID policies and procedures.
  • Complete paperwork neatly and accurately and on time at each stop utilizing the company's approved software.
  • Provide end-of-day paperwork in a complete, organized fashion following company policy.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • High school or GED Equivalent (Required)
  • You must be able to pass an extensive Motor Vehicle Record, NAID background check, and drug screen.
  • Driver's License required. Class B CDL highly preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Outlook) is preferred.
  • Able to drive and operate a straight truck.
  • Knowledge of how to properly operate a vehicle in all weather conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Able to repeatedly push and pull 300lbs rolling shred bins.
  • Able to lift 75-pound bags of paper from cabinets to dump into rolling bins.
  • Ability to drive 8 to 10 hours shifts with limited break times.
