As an Industrial Hygienist, you will:


Prepares, coordinates or reviews the development of design documents for program compliance, cost estimates from construction documents or service contract documents for services and tasks involving EHS program areas such as asbestos, lead-paint, drinking water quality, and/or indoor air quality.

Performing industrial hygiene assessments, inspections or testing, performing associated risk assessments and recommending actions associated with facility or operational problems or hazards.

Conducts periodic industrial hygiene training sessions, as needed or requested, for project managers, facility managers, leasing administration managers, and individuals in other disciplines as appropriate, andmanagement to promote awareness of the industrial hygienist program and introduce them to new materials and designs, procedures, and/or new and innovative processes and techniques.

Serves as either the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for industrial hygiene and occupational safety assessments on major GSA proposalsand surveys prepared under contract.

Has authority to accept or reject the technical aspects of the contractor's work.

Works with other recognized industrial hygiene and occupational health experts, primarily external to the agency, to develop a coordinated approach to unique problems or areas in which GSA, other Federal agencies or the private sector have previously not been involved or concerned.

Applies a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve program effectiveness and complex management processes, projects and systems.

Reviews specific goals and objectives; monitors sequence and timing of key program events and milestones and evaluates overall program accomplishments and significant contributions in terms of agency goals.
