The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, Psychology Service, is actively recruiting for an enthusiastic and qualified Psychologist candidate for an immediate opportunity to join our Behavioral Health Integrated Program (BHIP) team and provide ongoing support to our Employee Assistance program for VHA employees across the healthcare system.


The Staff Psychologist duties include:


Through our Employee Assistance Program, aid staff in addressing common referral concerns, such as grief, divorce, family or personal illness, work conflicts, and stress management.

Provision of psychoeducation on health, wellness, and coping strategies for both individual employees or teams/units coping with stressful events or team dynamics.

Serve on the Emergency Preparedness Committee and assist in staff crisis or disaster management employing Psychological First Aid (PFA) intervention techniques.

As an integral member of our BHIP team, provides a full range of mental and behavioral health interventions, when requested, including individual and group psychotherapy and psycho-education interventions, demonstrating sensitivity to the special needs of all patients.

Interviews patients, determines the type of assessment battery needed, conducts testing, interprets the results of testing and produces reports with conclusions and/or recommendations.

Serves as expert psychological resource within a multi-disciplinary team and consults with medical and/or mental health staff on the development or evaluation of mental and/or behavioral health intervention programs.

Conceptualizes, develops and implements detailed intervention plans for a full range of psychological services.

Provides comprehensive professional care documentation in the patient electronic record system or specialized Employee Health record system, adhering with timeliness standards for quality care.
