\tAs an Agronomy Intern - Test Plot Data Collection, you will work closely with our research team to ensure accurate and efficient collection of data from our test plots. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the collection, recording, and analysis of agronomic data for various crop trials. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of our research efforts and support decision-making processes.\r

\tResponsibilities:

\tField Data Collection:
\r

\t\tVisit assigned test plots regularly to collect agronomic data, including but not limited to crop growth stages, plant population, weed presence, pest and disease incidence, and soil characteristics.\r
\t\r
\t\tFollow established protocols and guidelines to ensure consistent and accurate data collection.\r
\t\r
\t\tRecord data in a systematic manner, maintaining detailed and organized records.\r
\t\r
\t\tCollaborate with the research team to identify any issues or anomalies observed in the field.\r
\r
\r
\t \r
\r

\tData Analysis and Reporting:
\r

\t\r
\t\tAssist in organizing and analyzing collected data using spreadsheet software and statistical tools.\r
\t\r
\t\tCollaborate with the research team to interpret and summarize findings from the collected data.\r
\t\r
\t\tPrepare clear and concise reports, charts, and graphs to communicate data insights effectively.\r
\t\r
\t\tParticipate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding data interpretation and recommendations.\r

\tEquipment Maintenance:
\r

\t\tEnsure proper maintenance and calibration of field equipment used for data collection.\r
\t\r
\t\tClean and store equipment appropriately after each use.\r
\t\r
\t\tReport any equipment issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.\r
\r
\r

\r

\tQualifications:
\r

\t\r
\t\tCurrently pursuing a degree in agronomy, agricultural sciences, or a related field.\r
\t\r
\t\tStrong interest in crop production, agronomy research, and data analysis.\r
\t\r
\t\tExcellent observational skills and attention to detail.\r
\t\r
\t\tAbility to work independently as well as in a team environment.\r
\t\r
\t\tBasic knowledge of field data collection techniques and tools.\r
\t\r
\t\tProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.\r
\t\r
\t\tFamiliarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) is a plus.\r
\t\r
\t\tEffective communication and organizational skills.\r
\t\r
\t\tFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities and field conditions.\r
\t\r
\t\tPhysical capability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform fieldwork.\r
\t\r
\t\tValid driver's license and ability to travel between test plot locations.\r
\r
