Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.

Specific Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Learning Content, reports directly to the Director of Learning Experience Design, and will assume a pivotal role in driving large-scale content design projects aimed at elevating the organization's learning programs. This role entails leveraging extensive expertise in Learning & Development processes to spearhead content creation initiatives. The commitment to continuous improvement, combined with an innovative mindset, will guide the individual in iteratively enhancing the organization's learning materials. Utilizing cutting-edge instructional design methods, including Design Thinking, the individual will meticulously craft and deliver compelling learning experiences. The overarching mission is to ensure that learners consistently develop their skills, confidence, and enthusiasm as they engage with the content.

Expected Contributions

Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk. Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.participating in setting department operating plans.recognizing and celebrating team successes.achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.Performs other duties as appropriate.
Specific Expected Contributions
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and colleagues, ensuring the development of effective learning solutions.Prioritize building trust and credibility by immersing yourself in various organizational functions to gain a deep understanding of their core operations.Serve as a trusted learning consultant, collaborating closely with subject matter experts to identify learning needs and performance gaps.Foster seamless collaboration to design and develop custom learning solutions that address specific organizational requirements.Lead and oversee complex, large-scale learning content initiatives, orchestrating the involvement of all necessary contributors.Innovate and propose learner-centric solutions that consistently inspire and engage learners.Create comprehensive learning materials, including outlines, scripts, storyboards, and prototypes, as precursors to full-fledged development.Apply AGILE-based design methodologies to consistently produce high-quality learning materials.Develop diverse learning content, spanning from instructor-led training to augmented reality modules, harnessing multimedia expertise.Collaborate extensively with project stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout the design and development phases.Take charge of vendor partnerships for content development, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and objectives while leveraging external expertise as required.Work closely with the leadership team to refine project tracking and measurement of outcomes.Stay abreast of evolving learning needs among adult learners, ensuring that methods and techniques remain current.Proactively research and implement innovative learning strategies, elevating the overall quality of the Learning Experience Design team.

Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:
Generally a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Experience
Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in learning design or similar role, focusing on content creation, project management, or a related field.Experience in managing Learning Design processes and platforms is highly desirable.Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS), and other learning technologies.Experience in learning content production.Experience in a fast-paced, geographically distributed, cross-functional team environment.Project management experience highly desirable.Experience in the eLearning industry or corporate training environment is a plus.
Skills & Attributes
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.Proficiency with popular learning design tools, such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Dreamweaver), and/or Adobe Captivate.Proficiency with web and app development using as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, WordPress, and Unity.Experience designing accessible learning materials that are Section 508 compliant.Able to design and develop a curriculum that includes a variety of learning materials and modalities. Able to evaluate the impact of instructional objectives and performance goals of training and use findings to improve future training(s).Advanced knowledge of learning, instructional theories, and andragogy.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.Able to manage multiple clients and tasks simultaneously.Is adaptable to sudden changes in direction/scope.Strong presentation skills, capable of effectively communicating complex ideas to a diverse audience.Excellent leadership qualities, fostering a culture of learning, and leading by example.Outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence a broad group of stakeholders.Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities.A high degree of comfort with ambiguity, demonstrating flexibility and creative problem-solving.
