Reports to PRINCIPAL

PART TIME TEACHER, ADULT EDUCATION

Major Function:
Working with the Adult General Education Program. Responsible for instruction and directing
the learning experiences of adult students in ABE/GED, ESOL, AHS, HSC or AAAE according to
state adopted curriculum framewor s.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaches students skills and concepts to realize academic gains and self-sufficiency
  • Identifies long-range goals and objectives for transition to post-secondary or workforce
  • Prepares and presents individualized and group instruction
  • Interprets and evaluates student assessments and develops individualized and
differentiated learnin prescriptions

  • Maintains communication with students regarding their academic needs and progress
  • Maintains student records and data in accordance with Pinellas School Board Policy and
Florida Department of Education

  • Applies knowledge of Cultural Competency in classroom interactions
  • Attend professional de elopment to maintain certifications and keep abreast of best
practices in instructional methodologies and techniques

  • Performs other duties as require

inimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree from a fully accredited college or university. Possession of, or
eligibility for, a Florida teaching certificate in an academic area, or a Pinellas County
District Certification which shows correlation to the content area.
