Perform the full range of overhaul and repair work on heavy duty mobile equipment and vehicles powered by internal combustion engines
The mechanic is responsible for the full range of overhaul and repair work which may involve such functions as; determining or diagnosing the courses of operating problems and locating defective or worn parts and equipment
Install needed parts or assemblies such as pistons, gears, cylinders, etc. and fittings to appropriate tolerances or other specifications;
Overhaul and/or rebuild or implement other major repairs to systems and controls, suspension and braking systems, and electrical systems
Align and adjust repaired parts or systems to insure the proper operation of the vehicle.
Determine the appropriate repair procedure to be used
