Job Description

Purpose:

The primary function of Procurement is to economically and efficiently purchase goods and services commensurate with AbbVie policies and objectives, whilst adhering to strict standards of business ethics and integrity.

This role will report to the Associate Director of Procurement with engagement of not only Senior Marketing Stakeholders located in US in the IMCO Pharma organization and cross-functional teams but also Senior Business Managers to deliver value and cost-optimization opportunities, capturing cost-savings/reductions and improving financial and operational performance of all service providers across a fast paced, international business.

Key Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

Proactively analyses and seeks value/saving opportunities across spend category: Marketing Services (Advertising/Creative, PR, Media, Digital, Market Research, Meetings & Events, etc) Professional Services (HR, Legal, Consultancy, Facilities, Office Supplies, Travel, etc)Co-create Global Category strategies with the US/OUS Category Management Teams and implement the strategy to the benefit of the IMCO Pharma businessApplies strategic sourcing practices and manages supplier negotiations to ensure that full benefits (P&L and efficiencies) are realized and sustainedDevelopment and maintenance of key relationships with internal stakeholders at all seniority levels operating in a business partner manner to drive procurement engagement across all areas of the IMCO Pharma business. It is key to demonstrate value creation and cost saving opportunities without compromising on quality.Development and maintenance of external supplier relationships with key supplier personnel focused on working with AbbVie to build a mutually beneficial supplier relationship.Partners with key internal stakeholders to formulate and drive innovationResponsible for developing, compiling, managing all required RFI, RFQ and RFP and help manage cross functional stakeholders through the procurement process in alignment with the agreed sourcing strategy. Once sourced, negotiation, contracting and competitive bidding is conducted in accordance with the AbbVie Purchasing PolicyDevelop and maintain a supply base that ensures the best value for service, quality, business understanding, pricing and innovation.Ensure that Preferred Supplier Networks (PSNs) are established and aligned with Global Category strategiesManage the key preferred suppliers to drive value to the IMCO Pharma businessSupport and develop sustainability and diversity initiativesDemonstrate knowledge of Internal and External guidelines and regulations (e.g. FDA, Customs, PhRMA for US and International regulations where appropriate) to ensure complianceEffectively develop and negotiate Master Services Agreements, Statement of Works and other agreements in conjunction with legal, compliance teams, the business and finance.Ability to identify and solve complex contractual, process, operational business challenges, and know when to seek assistance #LI-AL1
Qualifications
You will have the ability to think strategically and provide strategic insights to all categories / activities for which you are responsibleExcellent ability to communicate effectively with internal and external executives and senior leaders.Ability to lead, motive, influence and drive positive change at all levels of the IMCO Pharma organisation.You will be able to demonstrate experience gained in a project based sourcing environment, with exposure to Indirect procurement on an International basis.Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or other relevant discipline5 Years + experience of working in a Pharmaceutical or Sales and Marketing Procurement roleDemonstrated ability to lead the development of contract management and executionExperience in Category Management strategy development and the co-creation of category strategies.Experience in supplier development and supplier performanceStrong skills in spend and performance analysis competency in excel is advantageousGood understanding of supply marketGood understanding of best-in-class sourcing management processes and techniques. Knowledge of ePurchasing tools (e.g. Ariba, SAP, JDE etc) would be an advantageExcellent business/financial acumen, ability to identify business opportunities and prepare business proposalsAbility to understand the factors affecting the finances and/or operations of suppliersExcellent global supplier management skills with the ability to foster and leverage professional relationships
