Volunteer Bi-Lingual Intake Specialist is member of the Case Management Team and works in the office environment or remotely, responds to messages received via phone system from Spanish speaking neighbors; confirms service area eligibility, screens, and conducts intake interviews, updates data base with new client information, creates paper files, and schedules appointments.

Qualifications:

1. The ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English and Spanish is required.

2. Experience with office reception and intake within a human service environment, community outreach or other non-profit agency providing direct aid to vulnerable populations is strongly preferred but not required.

3. Intermediate computer literacy including database management/data entry and reporting; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.

4. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while communicating effectively.

5. Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking to solve problems.
