The Community Sport & Wellbeing Team at Chelmsford City Council is looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced people to assist with the running of the Play in the Park sports & play schemes during the Summer Holidays 2024.

You should have experience of working with children of pre-school or primary school age. This could be in a childcare/nursery or school setting, as a coach, or youth worker. Ideally you will be comfortable delivering games and sports activities, and arts and crafts. For Senior Playworker applicants, experience of leading a team is desirable.

Successful candidates will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure undertaken by the Disclosure & Barring Service and appointment is subject to this being successful.


Staff are required on weekdays (excluding bank holidays) during the summer school holidays, including one essential training day running from Tuesday 23rd July 2024 to Friday 23rd August 2024.

Interviews for this role will be held on Tuesday 28th May 2024 & Wednesday 29th May 2024.
