SSM is seeking a full-time science teacher beginning August 2024 who will teach Biology (Grade 9) and Middle School Science (Grades 6 & 7). We are looking for teachers who emphasize laboratory activities, hands-on learning, and inquiry-based instruction. In addition, we are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills who will work collaboratively with members of the science department. Candidates must love teaching middle school aged students and be happy in a small school where collaboration, connection, and community come first.

Shattuck St. Mary's School is a boarding/day school and faculty members are expected to be involved with both co-curricular activities and standard residential life duties involved with a residential school setting.

Candidate will have demonstrated experience instructing in a student-centered, innovative educational environment, be familiar with technology in the classroom, and be well-versed in the academic and developmental needs of students in middle school.Bachelor's Degree in relevant field; Master's Degree or relevant coursework preferred. Candidates should have at least 2-4 years' experience teaching; however, we will consider exceptional first-year teaching candidates.
