Take your career to new heights with a CVM Archives Internship at the Tiffany & Co. office in Parsippany, New Jersey. Join us for an incredible internship experience and gain hands-on experience in preserving and cataloging the rich history of Tiffany. You will work closely with our archives team to maintain and organize our historical records and artifacts, ensuring they are readily accessible for research and creative inspiration. This internship will focus on digitization and the creation of digital collections for the Tiffany & Co. Archives. The Archives Intern will engage in the digital capture and sharing of rare and unique materials, including but not limited to photographs, advertisements, sketches, and design materials. From production operations through delivery in the digital asset management system (DAM), the Archives intern will prepare, capture, review, and deliver files to be approved by the Assistant Archivist.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Utilize scanning equipment and related software for the digital capture of materials in accordance with established standards.
  • Support the digitization of archival materials to create digital records for easy accessibility and reference.
  • Assist in cataloging and organizing historical documents, including but not limited to photographs, advertisements, jewelry sketches, and design materials.
  • Collaborate in the preservation of archival materials through proper handling, storage, and conservation methods.
  • Identify and strategize best practices and principles for the digitization of content.
  • Assist the Assistant Archivist in developing new capabilities and content for the DAM, while streamlining processes for the ingestion, maintenance, and preservation of files.
Required Qualifications:
  • Pursuing education or recent graduate of Archival Studies, History, Fashion History, or a related field.
  • Experience working in the field of digitization of heritage/archival materials.
  • Strong initiative and proactive approach to their work.
  • Strong communication skills, focused on partnership and teamwork.
  • Excellent judgement to drive business performance.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter and agile.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital imaging software.
  • Passion for fashion history and a keen interest in preserving cultural heritage.
  • Ability to handle fragile materials with care and follow preservation best practices.
  • An understanding of archival principles is a plus but not mandatory for an internship.
This is a full-time in-person position based out of our New Jersey office. The internship will run for ten weeks and start on June 3, 2024 and end on August 9, 2024. The hourly rate for this role is $25.00.
