You will serve as Deputy Program Manager on the H-65 Conversion/Sustainment Program, responsible for the planning, organization, execution, and coordination of assigned acquisition program(s), in accordance with approved charters and applicable policies and procedures

You will also:

contribute to the accomplishment of USCG/CG-93 mission, goals, and objectives by strategic direction and effective implementation of the objectives of assigned acquisition program(s); support the planning and development of acquisition efforts, business, and organizational administrative operations; and provide direction on a wide range of program issues essential to the efficient operation of CG-93.

Typical work assignments include:


Developing, managing, and documenting short and long-range, acquisition planning activities that include multi-year work plans; planning and initiating a comprehensive evaluation system for the review and analysis of proposed costs, program development, and performance; developing detailed plans, tasks, milestone dates and schedules to ensure proper sequencing of events and tracking of processes and costs throughout the lifecycle of the programs/projects; and establishing program objectives and units of measure for determining when objectives have been met.

Coordinating meetings with internal staff and representatives from staff agencies and industry to determine program status, major milestones, and coordination of each to detect in advance potential slippage or increased costs; and to ascertain appropriate action required to maintain or improve program schedules.

Directing, managing, and coordinating a variety of analytical studies, evaluative studies, and projects involving complex systems, to ensure achievement of desired objectives related to the management and continuing improvement of the programs, policies, and procedures of the organization.

Serving as the principal advisor on all project/program activities; overseeing the analysis of effectiveness; preparing periodic status reports marking cost, schedule, and performance; and providing input to periodic government program reviews and contract baseline reviews.

Analyzing and evaluating existing, new, and emerging functional acquisition requirements, operational standards, and measures of effectiveness; monitoring the execution of the budget with many different sources and types of funding, such as direct multi-year appropriations and transfers of funds to and from other agencies.

Acting as Contracting Officer Representative for programmatic support contracts and consulting studies requiring the following duties: preparing and/or reviewing acquisition materials, including but not limited to statements of work, cost estimates and other documentation in support of acquisition requests for goods and services; enforcing contract requirements and reviews; approving contractor invoices; and providing technical oversight of contractor work and deliverables, including review of all technical documents, plans and other material for adequacy and compliance with the contract requirements.
