Overview


Join us as a Principal Software Engineer at BrainGu, where you will lead the development of critical, scalable, and secure applications as part of our Mission-Apps-as-a-Service offering. This role requires a deep technical proficiency in both front-end and back-end development, a strong commitment to code quality, and a keen interest in shaping technical architecture. You will collaborate closely with top-tier engineering teams and operators to deliver solutions that are not only efficient and dependable but also align directly with our mission requirements. Your leadership will drive the creation of resilient products using React and Python/Django within our agile and modular application framework.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of scalable and robust web applications by establishing frameworks that elevate code quality and enable the creation of maintainable, efficient, and scalable code across the entire stack.
  • Implement advanced security measures aligned with DevSecOps Reference Design to safeguard our applications against threats while adhering to compliance standards.
  • Leverage sophisticated instrumentation strategies to monitor and enhance performance, ensuring our applications provide valuable insights and meet high-performance benchmarks.
  • Guide discussions on technical vision and scalability, collaborating with the team to advocate for a dynamic and modular development approach, and guaranteeing our technical solutions are resilient, adaptable, and future-oriented.
  • Lead technical conversations, share knowledge, mentor engineers of all levels, and engage with stakeholders to cultivate a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Requirements

  • This position may require a US Government Clearance, necessitating US Citizenship.
  • Over 10 years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer, demonstrating expert-level proficiency in React, Python/Django, and familiarity with CI/CD environments.
  • Demonstrated track record leading large-scale projects, ensuring high-quality code, security compliance, and optimized performance.
  • Proven expertise in architectural design, capable of making decisions that enhance the scalability and resilience of web applications.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor engineers, lead by example, and foster collaboration within a diverse and remote-first engineering team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and advancing the technical vision.

  • Django/Python: Expertise in developing backend applications with Django and Python, emphasizing code reusability and maintainability.
  • React: Advanced proficiency in React for creating efficient and responsive user interfaces.
  • Redux: Experience with Redux for state management in React applications, designing and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Docker: Proficiency in using Docker for streamlining development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Kubernetes and Networking Protocols: Fundamental understanding of Kubernetes for orchestrating applications in a microservices ecosystem.
