How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Meteorology Cooperative Learning program is designed to help students prepare for professional careers in the field of Meteorology or a related profession. It will provide practical, real-world experiences that challenge the student both personally and professionally.

Candidates will rotate work and school every other semester. This position is for Spring 2025, Fall 2025 and Summer 2026. The student can expect to gain valuable industry experience, work on substantive projects, and develop professional skills through training and mentoring with experienced professionals. The students time will be split with approximately 85% of the time spent on project work and 15% observing and forecasting with meteorologists while they perform operational duties

The student will be responsible for working on a variety of interesting and challenging projects that contribute to the departments' continued improvement and success. This includes gathering and analyzing meteorological data for various projects, creating training material and developing various tools/websites to improve our processes and procedures.

The Co-op can also expect to gain hands-on forecasting experience learning with Delta's team of Meteorologists that provide a wide range of weather forecast products.
