About this role

The responsibilities of the Risk Finance team include the global procurement and management of all insurance policies, as well as the management of Newmont Goldcorp Insurance Company Inc (NGICI).

The Senior Risk Analyst is responsible for managing the administrative aspects of the placement of global insurance programs, which includes data gathering, calculation of premium cost allocations, and review of insurance policies for accuracy. Additional responsibilities include working directly with site and regional contacts in order to coordinate the collection of insurance placement information and review for accuracy and reliability.

The Senior Risk Analyst will help in the design and implementation of the Risk Finance Discovery Page. This includes optimizing the site to drive a more efficient and effective way to gather insurance placement information from various functions and sites within the Newmont organization.

The Senior Risk Analyst will also provide support to the Insurance Risk Engineering Program (IREP), including (but not limited to) coordination of on-site inspections, quarterly communication to site/regional leadership on current 3W status and manage the creation and distribution of quarterly 3W reports to all interested internal and external parties.

The position will require performance of a wide variety of risk management principled projects and related duties in order to drive continuous improvement and innovative thought towards the broader risk mitigation efforts within Newmont.

Your role will consist of

Procurement of Insurance Policies/Programs:

  • Gather and analyze data for global insurance renewals, engaging with various groups within Newmont
  • Collaborate with insurance broker to establish favorable insurance policy terms and conditions
  • Review newly issued insurance policies for accuracy and communicate deviations back to insurance broker for implementation
  • Understand key insurance terms relative to Newmont's business in order to drive continuous improvement of insurance programs to the benefit of Newmont
  • Create documentation for the Insurance Procurement Procedure document

Transaction of Insurance Policies/Programs:

  • Ensure timely payment of invoices in collaboration with Newmont Supply Chain and various outside vendors
  • Calculate and communicate insurance premium allocations
  • Support all captive insurance company (NGICI) financial transactions

Administration of Insurance Policies/Programs:

  • Design and manage all content, links and appearance of the Risk Finance Discovery Page

  • Review and advise requested deviations to our established Insurance Requirements language within Newmont contract template wording and provide initial comment back to Contract Managers and/or Legal within two working days
  • Issue evidence of insurance to various internal groups upon request, including certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, and letters of self-insurance
  • Support all captive insurance company (NGICI) interactions with Accounting, and resultant external regulatory audits
Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Knowledge:

Bachelor's Degree in risk management/analysis, finance, mine engineering or related field

Advanced knowledge of Risk Management principles

Advanced knowledge of Contract Management principles

Subject matter expert knowledge of SAP systems

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant risk management or contract management experience

Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is preferred

Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated strong verbal/written communication skill, including ability to work in a group dynamic

Must have ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word and Excel applications

Strong PC skills using MS office software

Working conditions and location

The position is located in the Denver corporate office.

Travel to and assist other domestic and international sites is required.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $90, ,730. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
