Nursery Associate Teacher

The Town School is looking to hire an entry-level nursery associate teacher for the school year. A Bachelor's degree is required.

The salary for this position is $50,000. *Base salary does not reflect additional stipend based on degree level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To collaborate with the head teacher to plan and implement a purposeful and balanced program that infuses traditional and innovative teaching styles in a warm and nurturing environment.
  2. Help set up and maintain an effective classroom environment.
  3. Meet regularly with head and specialist teachers for curriculum planning. Prepare for these meetings as necessary.
  4. Carry out classroom responsibilities as designated by the head teacher.
  5. Meet regularly with the head teacher to review associate responsibilities and discuss teaching styles and techniques as they pertain to The Town School.
  6. Communicate effectively with faculty and staff.
  7. Help keep accurate and thorough records of children, including daily attendance, anecdotal records, and progress reports.
  8. Participate in all guidance meetings.
  9. Prep for and participate in parent/teacher conferences.
  10. Assist in the writing of year-end reports.
  11. Attend and contribute effectively to all Tuesday after-school faculty, divisional, and committee meetings.
  12. Assist the Admissions Office with the student interview process for prospective Kindergarten students entering the division.
  13. Continue to grow professionally through in-service training, workshops, or coursework.
  14. Help foster the spirit of community at Town.
  15. Embrace the School's moral mission of "Taking Care of Town: Self – Others – Surroundings."
