This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT & will remain open until July 22, 2024, or until all positions are filled.

Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off:
50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure:
1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Monday - Friday,

DUTIES
The Anesthesiologist is responsible for direct patient care, clinical/administrative supervision of other anesthesia providers, and education of perioperative staff as well as students and residents when required.

Primary place of employment is Harlingen but there may be occasions requiring travel to other facilities affiliated with VA TX Valley Coastal Bend to meet patient needs.
The anesthesiologist is responsible for ensuring that the complex mission of the Anesthesiology section is met in all phases of patient care, education and research/administrative functions.
Provides consultative services regarding anesthesia recommendations
Performs peer review for anesthesia providers internally as well as on request from other facilities. Clinically and administratively supervise other anesthesia providers
Provides guidelines for perioperative anesthetic care and develop educational program for future residents and student
