Description:

The candidate will work closely with Reliability Engineers and business critical databases and ensure applications are performing optimally. Primary responsibilities include database activities including:

  • Working with developers and define database objects, backup and recovery, patches, upgrades, software installation, database schema changes, data Modelling and tuning, Capacity and Performance improvements

Successful candidate must be able to apply database knowledge to design effective and optimal database layout, analyze and improve database performance. The candidate is expected to be a part of on-call rotation schedule.

The ability to communicate technical / non-technical issues / solutions in a clear, concise and easy to understand manner is imperative, as the candidate may participate in technical and customer reviews and should be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. To be successful in Adobe's dynamic environment, qualified candidates must be self-motivated, work closely with others in a true team environment and able to define, plan and implement long term goals and tasks in support of Adobe's enterprise and Information Services departmental strategies and charter. Excellent problem solving, multitasking, troubleshooting skills, logical thinking and attention to detail are required to work in this challenging and dynamic environment. • Extensive experience with various DR and HA solutions/Architecture

• Analyze and resolve problems involving interaction between applications, server hardware/firmware/OS and Database by working with cross functional teams and equipment vendors.


• Contribute to a variety of documentation such as strategies, plans, designs, configuration standards, metrics, etc.

Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to:

 Manage Oracle (RAC) databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.

 Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

 Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations

 Solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Independently analyze

 Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

 Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.

 Provide 24x5 support

 Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.

 Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

 Planning out strategies for DB migration, DB consolidation and driving it end to end.

 Provide a high level of technical expertise, advice and guidance on technology aspects of database and application delivery services to management and other technical staff.

 Participate in and contribute to Release activities including Spec reviews.

 Ensure database security, integrity, and performance

 Recommend, implement, and maintain best practices and corporate standards
