Find your future at Revvity

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced scientific software leader to drive the direction of Revvity Signals most strategic platform in the Biologics domain. Our SaaS Signals platform integrates with multiple critical products, and this role requires someone who is adept at managing interdependencies and communicating at multiple levels from long-term vision to detailed technical requirements including various stakeholders including business representatives and technical design teams.

This role will act as the liaison between users (Revvity Signals customers) and the Revvity Signals software. As such, this person will be responsible for the "customer handshake" (listening to requirements, brainstorming ideas, getting feedback on design) as well as the definition and documentation of these requirements for the software engineers.

End users of the software are laboratory scientists, so it is essential that the Product Manager has demonstrated understanding of and experience with scientific workflows.

This is a wonderful opportunity to have a high-profile impact as well as to be exposed to cutting edge technology, including AWS, Hadoop, mongoDB, elastic search, and other cloud services. So, if you have a knack for software, a drive to improve human health, and a passion for building great products, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

As a Software Product Manager at Revvity Signals, you'll be at the helm of defining the vision and feature set for our product line, ensuring its long-term success and alignment with company goals. Your role will involve close collaboration with various departments to set development timelines, train teams on new releases, engage with customers to understand their needs, and manage resources, quality, budgets, and expectations.
  • Identify Market Needs: Conduct thorough market research, including direct interactions with current and potential customers, to identify emerging market needs and trends.
  • Generate Functional Ideas: Drive the generation of ideas for new and existing functionality, particularly focusing on supporting biologics workflows, leveraging insights from market research.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Services: Partner with Research & Development (R&D) and Services teams to translate identified market needs into tangible product features and solutions, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Evangelize Products: Act as the internal and external champion for our product offerings, advocating for their value proposition and benefits to both stakeholders within the company and external customers.
  • Cultivate High Customer Service: Foster a culture of exceptional customer service, ensuring that customer needs and feedback are prioritized throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Create Requirements Documentation: Develop clear and concise requirements documentation for new product ideas and enhancements, facilitating effective communication and alignment across teams.
  • Gain Approval for Product Ideas: Present and advocate for product ideas to stakeholders, securing approval for product development activities and initiatives.
  • Hands-On Product Support: Play a hands-on role in the early stages of product development, engaging directly with select customers to demonstrate the value and functionality of the product.
  • Deliver Presentations: Deliver engaging, informative, and well-organized presentations as needed, effectively communicating product features, benefits, and value propositions.
  • Define Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate cross-functionally to define the go-to-market strategy, including product positioning, key benefits, and target customer profiles, to drive successful product launches and market penetration.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific domain related to life science research AND a minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
  • Master's Degree in a scientific domain related to life science research AND 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in building or using enterprise software solutions and 5 years of experience working with laboratory/scientific workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a software product manager is highly desirable, though anyone with proven experience "bridging the gap" from requirements to design to software-build is encouraged to apply.
  • Sound understanding of software product life cycle management.
  • Demonstrated requirements analysis & documentation experience.
  • Experience with the Agile software development methodology and related processes and tools (e.g. sprint review meetings, JIRA, Aha, use case authoring, bug triaging, etc.).
  • Proficiency with product management concepts and articulating product concepts to groups of developers (e.g. storyboarding, mind mapping, use case development, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills used across multiple and varied stakeholders.
  • Translating needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • Experience demonstrating or training other users in software.
  • Direct experience in software engineering a plus, but not required.
  • Direct experience with the business aspects of building and selling software products a plus, but not required.
  • Business and technically savvy; has big picture vision and drive to make that vision a reality.
