The incumbent serves as an IT Specialist (Data Management) within the LIS team and provides the team and DLM with the automation skills and knowledge necessary to support the LIS within DLM.

In addition, the incumbent is responsible for serving as a LIS liaison to assigned organizations of the Department and participating in the planning, maintenance and administration of the LIS.

Conducting software checks to maintain stable and secure LIS performance.

These checks are conducted daily to ensure LIS is performing according to operational and security requirements and also include reviews and following up on automated LIS generated messages and end user feedback to address issues.

Developing user and functional requirements and collaborating with the appropriate stakeholders.
Troubleshooting issues by developing documentation changes and working with vendors to resolve problems and restore computer functions.
Resolving hardware and software interface and interoperability problems for the laboratories.
Managing the installation and integration of system fixes, patches, upgrades, and enhancements.
Developing long term projections of hardware and software needs due to the long lead time required for security, budgeting, programming and upgrading cycles
