PRODUCT DESIGNER / DRAFTER


Versatile Wood Products specializes in historically accurate custom wood windows, doors, cabinetry, and millwork in iconic commercial buildings and homes throughout Portland and the region.

We need another full time Product Designer with the ability to communicate and collaborate with architects, contractors, clients, carpenters, and vendors.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Architectural Drafting
  • Computer proficiency in Auto CAD, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to meet or beat deadlines and manage timelines
  • Valid driver's license and properly insured vehicle
Primary Job Duties

  • Drafting - create detailed shop drawings of windows, doors, cabinetry and furniture
  • Project Management – Address questions, details & revisions as they occur with the project team (shop, designer and installer) and initiate revisions to drawings
  • Estimating - Determine material and labor budgets in accordance with project specifications with collaboration of shop foreman as necessary in terms of joinery and/or build approach
  • Purchasing - facilitate the construction activities of the shop with on time deliveries of lumber, hardware, accessories, and sundries for each project with budget in mind

Other Experience a plus:

  • Experience with CNC related programs
  • Working kno0wledge of window & door or cabinetry construction
