Summary

This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense dated October 15, 2021.

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will perform assessment duties using IT system analysis, security specialties and serve as primary cyber security (CS) advisor for assessment teams.



Duties

As a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) at the GG some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Developing methods to measure risk, compliance, and assurance; evaluating compliance with information technology security.
  • Performing validation steps, comparing actual results with expected results and analyze the differences to identify impact and risks.
  • Conferring with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to obtain information on application limitations and capabilities.
  • Developing and directing software system testing and validation procedures; developing threat model based on test results.
  • Researching, analysis and preparation of concise point paper summaries of assessments and events.
  • Identifying technical and procedural findings, and providing recommended remediation strategies/solutions.
