ServiceNow's PSIRT serves as ServiceNow's awareness, response, and investigation capability for post release vulnerabilities in ServiceNow-developed product and service offerings.

Job Description

The Sr Staff Product Security Engineer will serve as a technical leader on ServiceNow's PSIRT. The Engineer will aggressively identify and communicate about risk across the ServiceNow product and service suite. The Engineer will continually improve processes within and outside the team.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Root cause analysis, developer engagement, and executive level reporting during high profile product-based security incidents.
  • Contribute to process improvements within PSIRT and across the company.
  • Serve as technical mentor to upskill team members and build team capabilities.
  • Lead research initiatives, prepare read outs for technical and non-technical audiences, and serve as a security partner for developers during long term remediation efforts.
  • Identify or triage, and track remediation of vulnerabilities in the ServiceNow product and service suite.
Qualifications

Core Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend Java and JavaScript code.
  • Strong understanding of common Java and JavaScript vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency scripting in both Python and JavaScript for data gathering, processing, and visualization.
  • Ability to simplify highly technical security vulnerabilities and drive remediation in collaboration with development teams.
  • Development of proof-of-concept exploits for web application vulnerabilities.
  • Written and verbal leadership-level communication.
  • Experience with scoping cross-organization security projects, task prioritization, and stakeholder management.

To be successful in this role you have:

  • 12 years minimum experience working in a role focused on web application security.
  • 5 years auditing source code for security vulnerabilities.
  • 2 years minimum experience conducting vulnerability assessments on the ServiceNow platform.
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science / STEM field or equivalent job experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding application security environment.
  • Experience in an incident response role.
  • Experience with cross-team program management.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with crisis management a plus.
  • Experience with reverse engineering malware a plus.
  • PMP certification a plus.
