Job Description:

Wai'alae Elementary PCS is seeking a passionate and innovative STEAM teacher to join our dynamic team. As a STEAM teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an engaging, hands-on curriculum that integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics concepts for students in Pre-K through Grade 5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop interdisciplinary STEAM curriculum that aligns with Pre-K to Grade 5 standards and promotes inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver engaging and interactive STEAM lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Hands-On Activities: Plan and facilitate hands-on experiments, projects, and activities that encourage creativity, experimentation, and collaboration among students.
  • Technology Integration: Integrate technology tools and resources into STEAM lessons to enhance learning experiences and prepare students for the digital age.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student progress through various formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in STEAM education through professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and stakeholders to align STEAM curriculum with school goals, participate in interdisciplinary projects, and contribute to the overall improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Community Engagement: Engage parents/guardians and the wider community by organizing STEAM-related events, workshops, and outreach programs that showcase student achievements and promote STEM/STEAM education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Teaching certification/license (Pre-K to Grade 5)
  • Strong background in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics
  • Experience designing and implementing STEAM curriculum
  • Proficiency in integrating technology tools and resources into teaching and learning
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative approach to teaching and learning
  • Passion for inspiring and motivating students to explore STEAM concepts
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
