Actuarial Analyst III (US)
Job Description:
Location: Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. This includes remote work and 1-2 days in office per week. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
The Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies.
How You Will Make an Impact
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.
- Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.
- Prices Medicare products using sql queries and Excel models.
- Participates in financial close and forecasting processes, comparing membership, revenue and claim variances to plan and forecast; explains rate and volume variances as needed.
Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- 5+ years of relevant experience including an ASA is preferred.
- Strong Excel Skills Needed.
- Excellent Documentation Habits and Clear Exhibit Building Skills is preferred.
- SQL Experience Preferred.
- Pricing Experience Preferred.
- P&L and/or Finance Experience a Plus.
- Medicare Experience a Plus.
