Our Impact:

The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division is responsible for management of the retained portfolio as well as Freddie Mac's debt funding, liquidity management and interest-rate hedging. The division is also responsible for I&CM securitization. Our team is responsible for implementing the firm's key models across all business lines. These include models for interest rates, house prices, borrower behavior, valuation, interest rate and credit risk, regulatory capital, and key financial reporting metrics.

As the center for implementation, we are responsible for the development of a forecasting engine, which forecasts every loan, security, and significant accounting event for the firm, as well forecasts of our risk and capital. This shared service supports nearly every risk decision in the firm, including automated underwriting, distressed loan decisioning, the profitability and risk of capital market decisions, the evaluation of credit and counterparty risks, related accounting disclosures, and capital strategy.

Your Impact:

You will be responsible for understanding and analysis of large sets of financial data required for creation of different financial reports. You will provide thought leadership and lead data analysis for reporting and evaluate different methodologies with quick proof of concepts for reporting within our Enterprise Financials Forecasting program.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Be highly credible as someone who understands materiality as it relates to data analysis and reporting standards and frameworks in financial reporting
  • Be focused on the analysis and monitoring data/reports to ensure quality of and accurate transfer, integration, translation, and reporting of data, reacting promptly to data quality concerns and user's inquiries
  • Effectively manage/analyze data dependencies of the reporting function and work with stakeholders to create clear requirements for reports
  • Work constructively with development teams to create high-quality reports and maintaining the data quality of the reporting function

Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelors or master's degree in STEM/Finance and/or experience in financial services
  • Strong experience using Python programming language for data analysis
  • Strong experience and knowledge in financial forecasting/risk reporting and analytics
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful analysis and presentations
  • Experience in performing data aggregations and transformations on large data sets from multiple data stores
  • Must have end to end data ETL experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
