As an intern, you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. You will also have access to additional benefits such as, networking with BAE Systems employees and other students, participating in exciting real-world projects, joining exclusive informational sessions with senior leaders, and expanding mentorship opportunities and career development.

This is a summer position that has a typical timeframe of late May – August, with potential to return during Winter Break. Internships and Co-ops may be shortened or extended at the discretion of the company. In this position you will be supporting the Intelligence & Security Headquarters in McLean, Virginia and is expected to be hybrid. In this role, you will bring a passion for Human Resources, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion processes to support a team of high performing HR Specialists and Generalists with relevant projects.

In this role, you will
  • Collaborate with members from various HR functions to learn more about the different facets of human resources
  • Work directly with HRBP team members to deliver on programs
  • Participate in the execution of our sector wide internship program
  • Shadow HRBPs on employee relations activities
  • Learn about and contribute to our employee onboarding practices
  • Partner and gain exposure to DEI and Talent Management activities
  • Support Talent Acquisition programs and initiatives related to recruitment marketing, event management, and recruiting/sourcing strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a focus in Human Resource Management or other related fields
  • Rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
  • Strong working knowledge of basic office automation tool suites such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects with varying deadlines
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Previous HR related internship experience
  • Completed at least two years of an undergraduate degree
  • Local to a site location
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $57420

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
