Responsible for providing veterinarian care to Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses that are on-site; keep Association and Commission officials informed as to condition and racing worthiness of the horses.

Conducts pre-race examinations of the mornings.

Present at the Paddock, at the Starting Gate and on-site during the races; places race horses on necessary lists; inspects race horses as necessary; recommends a race horse to be scratched if deemed physically incapable of exerting it best effort to win; humanely euthanize any race horse deemed to be so seriously injured that it is in the best interest to do so.

Abide by all safety measures from the State and Association.

Working conditions include Thoroughbred and Quarter Horses.

All other duties as assigned by management.

Works outside in all types of weather.
