SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking an MCTC Student Intern to join our Family Health team. This is a casual role that will work on-site (Schedule: day, evenings, and rotating weekends). Due to being a casual position, there are no regularly scheduled hours or benefits for this position. This position is a grant-funded position, that last for three to six months.

Purpose of this position: This position is an entry-level job that is typically used for students or unskilled workers to help them gain work experience. It may be used as an opportunity for on-the-job training. Each position supports a department by providing general services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Completes entry-level special projects as directed by staffProvides back-up support in directing incoming calls and visitorsMakes photocopies and assembles packets of informationStuffs envelopes, prepares outgoing letters for mailing, and prepares other packages for shipmentStocks paper and supplies in common areas on a daily basisEnters data using a computer keyboardMaintains administrative logsMaintains inventory and coordinates ordering of commonly used office and department suppliesPerforms simple maintenance on office equipment within confines of the departmentFiles information such as invoices, forms, patient information, and reports according to the department's filing systemSearches for information contained in files or on a computer databaseTakes notes during rounds or meetingsTypes various documents and/or minutes of meetingsOther duties may be assigned to meet the business needs of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma, GED, or current enrollment as a high school studentNo minimum work experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word/Excel/Outlook) and/or similar office environment software programsGood verbal communication skillsAbility to relate to people of various backgrounds
