Waste Water Lead TechnicianHours: 5am to 1:30pm

Wage:

Job Description:

Lead Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed below, a Lead must perform the following job functions:

  • Makes the final decision to adjustments in the operation of all WWTP equipment, setpoints, and limits according to Land O' Lakes and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency state guidelines and requirements.
  • Ability to utilize WIMS effectively.
  • Oversees and performs necessary laboratory sampling, testing, and calculations; records all data; makes final decisions based on data and findings.
  • Ensures all operators and technicians are performing all sampling, testing, calculations, and data recording properly and accurately.
  • Initiates and drives changes and improvements to wastewater operations, and wastewater equipment
  • Leads or participates in wastewater update meetings monthly
  • Delegate operator and technician responsibilities according to ability, skills, and business necessity.
  • Leads troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Determines corrective actions following equipment malfunctions or operational upsets
  • Reviews PM work for correctness, completeness, and compliancy
  • Ensures actual work hours align with recorded hours
  • Ensures timely completion of PMs and corrective action work orders
  • Writes necessary corrective action work orders (CPMs)
  • Ensures requisitions are filled out completely and correctly and in a timely manner so parts and supplies are ordered quickly, efficiently, and arrive on time.
  • Ensures PMs are correct and adequate for properly maintaining wastewater equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements or cost-savings and communicates them clearly with Utilities Supervisor and Maintenance Manager
  • Ensures all others are following all safety rules, wearing the correct PPE, and safe work practices.
  • Ensures all operators and technicians are completing necessary training according to their positions.
  • Follow sustainability practices.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  • 18 years or older
  • 6+ months prior utility maintenance experience, knowledge and/or education
  • Obtain MN WW Operators Certification within 2 years of hire.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Communicates work order progress to supervisor and production operators.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal, written, and electronic instructions and possess mathematical skills.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude. Some experience with mechanical systems, utilizing product manuals, troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, and reading mechanical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications & Experiences:

  • 1+ years' experience with basic electrical systems, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyers, hydraulics, packaging, PLC, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and pumps.
  • Forklift experience preferred or willing to be trained for certification
  • Ensures a safe working environment for self and others while performing assigned tasks
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively work with a variety of people and departments
  • Ability to be flexible in work performed and schedule
  • Self-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision
  • Customer focused and able to work in a collaborative team
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
